We’ve just finished upgrading our salary algorithm, thanks to everybody who helped tune it by submitting your salary data at RezScore. Here are the current salaries broken down by industry/sector:
As with last year, tech jobs remain the surest path to a six figure income. The median reported salary within the Computer/Internet sector was $101K,in line with our algorithm’s prediction of $98K.
The largest gap in our algorithm remains the loosely classified Business sector, with a wide discrepancy between our algorithms’ prediction ($80K) and the actual reported market value ($96K). Perhaps this is a reflection of strong negotiation tactics?
Trendline: Healthcare and Construction Drop
Most salaries landed in line with their 2016 reports within the 95% margin of error. A few notable exceptions are the measurable drop in reported salaries in Healthcare, Construction/Facilities, and Restaurant/Food Service sectors. Meanwhile we recognize growth in the Banking/Loans and Customer Services sectors.
