How to Escape a Black Hole

In 2019, scientists first photographed a black hole. Although scientists thought black holes were elusive, job searchers know that black holes are in fact quite common, appearing every time you submit your resume on a job board.

Potentially more impressive than photographing a black hole… and certainly more practical… in 2019 RezScore actually solved the job search black hole.

The Dark Ages of the Job Search Black Hole

Once upon a time, job searches were so opaque and bleak that they strongly resembled black holes.

Job searches used to involve submitting resumes online, getting no replies, and repeating the process ad nauseum. The job search felt like madness; doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Sadly, nothing would be accomplished in the job search except a marginal increase in the system’s entropy, much like a black hole.

The most frustrating aspect of the Job Search Black Hole was the frustration about wondering what happened when your resume was thrown into an ATS. Was it read? Was it shredded into spaghetti? Literally nobody could see inside— in this way the Job Search Black Hole parallels the contentious black hole information paradox.

Weirdest of all, people just accepted this insane system as an acceptable way of career advancement. New job sites would focus on, say, making it easier to throw your resume into a black hole from mobile, or letting you share with your social network that you just tossed your resume into a black hole. Yet nobody tried to solve the black hole itself… or perhaps those who dived into the problem simply disappeared forever.

How RezScore Solved the Job Search Black Hole

Now that RezScore Jobs exists, there’s no reason to ever worry about the Job Search Black Hole. We’ve solved the problem by guaranteeing that your resume never disappears into a black hole.

We solved the Job Search Black Hole by building our job board by implementing the following features:

  1. Giving you a receipt for every application. Most job sites don’t do this because they expect your resume to go nowhere. RezScore had the sharp idea to keep track your application so you could actually know what happened to it. As soon as send out your application, we send you an email confirmation.
  2. Guaranteeing a resolution to your application. Whether or not your application is successful, you will always get some amount of closure. Rejection is never fun, but it’s better than hearing nothing.
  3. Providing actionable feedback on your application. In many cases we can actionable feedback on why your application was rejected. This means you can actually get useful feedback on how to improve your application in the future. Getting any feedback makes rejections a lot more productive, as you can more quickly iterate your way to a job.
  4. Keeping your resume hosted within our site. This means you can make adjustments after you’ve already applied. In the former model, once you sent your resume it was gone, stuck in somebody’s inbox. At RezScore Jobs, you can continue making adjustments even after you applied.

You may worry that a job site that offers so much to the job seeker would not have any jobs. Fortunately, we have one of the largest and most actively updated databases by both sourcing directly or scraping from across the internet. We have listings for most every major company and position, just check it out and see.

A joyful reaction common to the typical user of RezScore Jobs.
