Harnessing The Wisdom of the Crowds

If you are job hunting, you’re probably looking over a hundred job listings a day and sorting them by quality. Not a lot of fun, but this is what you expected because this was just How It Was Always Done™.

At the same time, a thousand other people are looking at the exact same posts and repeating the exact same exercise. Can you spot the inefficiency? Wouldn’t it be great if you could pool your efforts?

RezScore Jobs makes crowdsourcing of these efforts central to the design of our site. When you view our list of active jobs, you are viewing a highly curated list of the best available jobs in exact rank order, judged by community members like you.

If you disagree, we make it easy to incorporate your feedback to the community. Upvote jobs you like to easily keep tabs on jobs you want to save. Downvote to get rid of them so you never have to see them again. We even provide easy buttons to flag expired jobs, recategorize jobs, and send by email. You can even submit individual new jobs or job feeds to keep the pool fresh.

It’s the same idea that other sites have used to great effect to bring you the best cat pictures on the internet. We’re just adapting it to something that’s actually, well, useful.

Rise of the Machine Learning

Central to RezScore’s mission is to apply machine learning to the benefit of job seekers. After all, when you apply to a Fortune 500 company, they may be using data they’ve collected on hundreds of thousands of applicants before you to make it tougher to get in the door. Individually, you could maybe hope to collect a few hundred data points, hardly enough to get any major benefits. So how can you leverage advances in AI and machine learning to your benefit?

Fortunately for you, RezScore has enough data to make a difference. We’re also the only website that is on your side because we remain independently owned and operated. We’ve tapped our immense dataset all throughout our new jobs site to your benefit.

We know nothing about you, so we just feed you some of our most popular filters and most popular jobs. But say you’ve already used RezScore to improve your resume — here is what you might see when you visit RezScore Jobs.

Notice the jobs are a little better targeted, and so are the filters. We’ve narrowed you down to geographies and categories that are more likely to be a good fit for you. The jobs are the best ordered jobs based on the voting of people who are more similar to you.

Helping Recruiters Find You

We want to make it easy for you to connect with recruiters and hiring managers, and to leverage the fact that RezScore knows a lot about how to structure your resume to get noticed. We talked with several of you about what you liked about social profile sites like LinkedIn, and what you thought they could do better. With that in mind, we’re building our new profiles section is just for your needs.

You also told us how you hate the complicated privacy options on other sites. We simplify it with the only options you could ever need — “Private”, “Limited”, and “Public”. Many of you expressed how much you hate playing the social networking game, so you can just keep your information confidential and our site works great.

Many of you also expressed that you like having recruiters find you, but you only want to do so if you’re putting your strongest foot forward. You also told us how much you hate re-entering your resume data every time you apply for jobs. We make it simple — just upload or paste your resume, and we figure out the formatting for you. We also let you link to other profiles you’ve already created, because you told us you appreciate the strength of these other sites at presenting this information nicely — we focus on just the nuts and bolts.
