About RezScore: How the Free Resume Grader Works
What RezScore is, how the free resume grader works, and a short walkthrough video: upload your resume, get two instant grades, see where you land on the map, and talk to Jen about what to fix first.
RezScore is a free resume grader, data-driven from the ground up. Upload your resume and in seconds you get two honest grades, a map of where you stand, and a clear path to a stronger version.
The video above shows the whole flow. Here is what you are watching:
- Upload and see the card fill in. Drop in your resume and the report card appears almost instantly: tabs, a chart, and your first grade land before the deeper read is even done. The rest fills in live, a few seconds behind it, so you are never staring at a blank spinner.
- Two grades, not one. Presentation is how persuasively your resume communicates what you bring. Qualifications is how strong a candidate you are for the role you are targeting, judged from the substance on the page, the skills, the experience, the trajectory, independent of how well the document dresses it up. A beautifully written page over thin substance and a strong candidate whose resume undersells them can land the same letter grade on the old single score. Now you see both, and they usually do not match.
- See where you land on the map. Your two grades plot as a dot on a quadrant chart: Qualifications across, Presentation up. Apply to jobs, Polish your resume, Build your skills, or Get started, the quadrant names the honest next move instead of leaving you to guess.
- Check the target and salary, correct with one tap. We infer the role you are aiming for from the resume itself and show our guess with an edit button right next to it. Guessed wrong? One tap fixes the whole read. The salary row works the same way: an estimate you can slide to tell us where you are actually aiming.
- Talk to Jen. Ask our AI career advisor anything about your resume. She answers like a sharp peer with specific, do-this-next suggestions, not vague filler, and she knows which of your two grades needs the work.
We built RezScore because most resume advice is generic and most resume tools are black boxes. Ours is the opposite: every grade is explainable, every suggestion is specific, and the whole first pass is free. Over 13 million resumes have been analyzed.
Curious how we built the two-grade card, including how we kept it fast? We wrote up the engineering story on the dev blog.
This page is our standing walkthrough. We update the video as the product improves, so what you see above is always the current RezScore.

Frequently asked questions
Is RezScore really free?
Yes. Grading your resume, getting both grades and the category breakdown, chatting with Jen, and seeing a salary estimate are all free. Paid plans add unlimited builder exports and deeper rewrites.
Why two grades instead of one?
One grade cannot tell you whether the problem is the document or the candidate behind it. Presentation measures how persuasively your resume communicates. Qualifications measures how strong a candidate you are for the role you are targeting, independent of how well the page is written. Same letter grade on both can mean very different next steps.
What is the Target to a Job feature?
Name a role or paste a full job description, and RezScore rebuilds your resume to fit it, a new headline, a sharper summary, and reordered bullets that match what the role is asking for. Your first targeted resume is free.
Who is Jen?
Jen is RezScore's AI career advisor. She reads your resume and answers questions like a sharp peer, not a generic chatbot, with concrete suggestions you can act on.
Do you store or share my resume?
Your resume is confidential. We use it to grade and help you improve it, and you stay in control of it.
